Arguably, the best guitars out of Spain are from Madrid and here is an
exquisite example of a top end instrument from a Luthier recognized as
among the top makers in the world today. Jose Romero started his
careers in the famed Ramirez workshop like Paulino Bernabe (now in his
70's), and followed in the renowned Spanish Madrid tradition that
Ramirez is notably recognized for. He spent eight years as a master
craftsman before deciding to go out on his own and open his own
workshop. This was in 1983, so a seasoned veteran builder at this
point. Very powerful, and the quality in tone is gorgeous, with deep
basses, round focused trebles. The guitar features a cedar top with
Brazilian back and sides. One repair on the Brazilian back where a
crack developed. Unfortunately, its not unusual for to this to happen
with Brazilian. The guitar was purchased from a guitar dealer new in
the early 2000s already repaired and I believe the repair was done by
the maker. The crack has not changed in the 5 years I have owned this
guitar. Otherwise the guitar is in excellent condition with just some
see in the light type marks that you would expect in an older guitar.
Incredible 51 mm @nut(2inches), 650 scale, so playability is
outstanding and effortless . Some measurements:
.
Upper Bout: 11 in.
Lower Bout: 14 1/2 in.
Body Depth @Neck Heel: 3 3/4 in.
Body Depth @Tail Block: 3&7/8 in.
I have the link for pictures below. selling for $2500 plus shipping. a
steal for this quality of guitar. i have some sound clips as well if
you would like to hear the tone. just shoot me an email.
